Advanced Diver

 

Advanced Diver grade is achieved by attending a mixture of Skill Development Courses (SDC's) during which the diver further increases their personal and group diving skills.

The diver must be a member of both the BSAC and Peterborough Sub-Aqua Club for insurance purposes.

 

Dive Limits:
  • Max Depth: 40M
  • Buddy: Any grade
The training for this grade includes:

3 Mandatory SDC's

  • O2 Administration
  • Practical Rescue Management
  • Dive Planning & Marshalling

Optional SDC's

Set 1 - 1 of this pair

  • Boat Handling
  • Chartwork & Position Fixing

Set 2 - 1 of this pair

  • Search and Recovery
  • Advanced Diving Techniques

The students will also be assessed for Dive Marshalling Skills of:

  • A shore Dive
  • A boat dive

The student will also have to pass

  • A Theory Test

  • A Rescue Assessment

The student will also participate in 20 additional dives after gaining Dive Leader to become more familiar with the techniques they are learning.

Equipment:

All trainees are expected to acquire their own full range of personal diving equipment.
