Learn to Dive with Peterborough Sub-Aqua Club
| | Diver training is the core of any club, it builds confidence, friendship, respect and indicates the professionalism of the club. | |
Peterborough Sub-Aqua Club is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club organisation and uses the latest up-to-date methods of training for all diver grades. | | We have a full range of equipment to enable novices to receive training without having the initial expense of purchasing equipment. However, members will be expected to increase their collection of personal gear within a reasonable time. |
Diver training is conducted over a number of weeks at weekly training sessions, mainly at the Peterborough Lido. Training is conducted by qualified instructors and all necessary equipment can be supplied by the Branch.
- Beginners are initially offered a "Try Dive" or a "Experience SCUBA" session before committing themselves. They can then move on to the "Ocean Diver" course that qualifies them to participate in open water diving. There is a progression from Ocean Diver to higher grades.
- When you learn with a BSAC Branch like Peterborough SAC you will become a BSAC member at the start of your training and will immediately be entitled to the full benefits of BSAC membership.
- By joining you are able to participate in the full range of club activities, including continuing and specialist courses arranged by the Branch or the BSAC Regional structure, as well as all our social activities, weekend diving trips to inland or coastal sites and diving holidays.
- We have our own boat and are able to mount fascinating diving trips and expeditions. When necessary we also charter dive boats at coastal locations.
- When you join our BSAC Branch you will pay an initial fee which includes the cost of providing you with the Sport Diving manual, DIVE magazine, third party insurance cover, your Qualification Record Book plus the charges calculated by the Branch to cover the facilities provided.
Scuba training within a BSAC Branch is available to anyone who is over the age of 14 and medically fit. Parental approval is needed for anyone under the age of 18 years.
